The purpose of Blindeforbundet is to ensure that everyone can live active and independent lives, regardless of visual impairment. But over time, their brand and digital experience had become outdated, and membership had stagnated. A shift was needed, both to attract new members and reach a wider audience, but also to optimise design and functionality for their core users.
The challenge was to create a website that is highly functional yet also carries a strong brand identity, one that works for everyone, from people with normal vision to those who are severely visually impaired or blind. Insights into the target group’s visual and functional challenges formed the basis for the concept: the guiding help.
This concept defined every part of the design. Colours, shapes, photography, design elements, typography and functionality were all carefully designed to guide users through both the website and the visual identity itself.
